Description

This striking artwork captures the gaze of Mystos, Raven of the Grove, during a solo pilgrimage into the heart of the ancient redwood forest on Valentine’s Day. Amidst the solemn stillness of the titans, the artist was met by the unexpected appearance of a Raven—a creature long revered across cultures as a guide, trickster, and messenger.

The Raven swooped down, observing the artist before taking on the role of an old friend, silently leading the way from tree to monumental tree. The artwork is a testament to that powerful exchange, exploring how a moment of solitude can lead to a profound, spiritual connection with nature.

The photograph is printed on transparency film and meticulously hand-gilded with 24K gold leaf. This process infuses the Raven’s form and the surrounding shadows with a luminous, internal light, aligning perfectly with the themes in the “Dream in Gold” collection. The gold elevates this captured moment into a sacred, enduring icon—a precious memory and a symbol of primal guidance.
