Obsidian Gold

A commanding statement piece, at 35″ x 27″, “Obsidian Gold Raven” is a unique work that fuses contemporary photography with the centuries-old art of gilding. The image is printed on transparency, with the reverse side painstakingly coated in hand-applied 24K gold leaf.
The gold, visible through the transparency, lends the raven a luminous, almost spiritual depth, reflecting the ‘gold’ found in memory and wisdom.
