I was privileged to teach digital storytellng at the Oregon Writing Project Summer Institute (professional writing development for K-12 teachers).
The script for this digital story came from Nan Phifer, author of Memoirs of the Soul: A Writing Guide, who led us in a freewrite with the sentence stem “I used to think…but now I know.”
Sandy, I love these videos that juxtapose poetry and images — and that carry unexpected meanings. Lovely.
Thank you, Beth! This really was more of a journal entry–a freewrite in class. I like to do scripted work, but I also am especially drawn to “bricolage,” piecing something together out of immediately available materials. Thanks for stopping by!
I watched this with my grandson who is still 5 – the images entranced him even tho the words were harder for him to understand. Just yesterday we made his DS about turning 6… We are all ripening fruit!
Thank you, Merrill! I look forward to seeing that video!
Profound and touching, so much said about your life path in a concentrated way, a narrative so brief as to be almost momentary. I loved this.
Sandy, my medium has never been words, maybe because they always got mixed up in my head due to dyslexia. I have always loved your ability, along with a number of others we both know, to express precisely soul expression, heart expression, and intellectual expression for that very moment in time we share.
Thank you Donna
