Because it is there, and because it is beautiful...

With temperatures in the Willamette Valley reaching 98 degrees last week, Peter and I sought relief on the Oregon Coast, less than two hours away. It was a perfect Saturday in late July.

You’d think the beaches would be swarming with tourists and locals alike, but nay, not so!

We visited friends at the Cliff House in Waldport, Toad Hall in Yachats, then just moseyed on south, spending a couple hours each at Neptune Beach and Bob Beach. This time on the beach with the sound of the waves crashing, the wind, the excitement of high surf was intensely pleasurable for me, as in there was no place I would rather be. And that is more than enough to be grateful for.
