My Journey in Image, Word, and Video: Sandy Brown Jensen
Two poems about blackbirds by Peter and Sandy Jensen with video of swarming blackbirds at Malheur National Refuge taken Sept. 7, 2012.
reminds me of the Wallace Stevens famous poem…
13 Ways to look at a Blackbird. But to hear you read and watch the shapes they make as they fly into migration mode, brings the magic into form. Thank you Ms Digital Storyteller! Another excellent piece!
Mesmerizing!
Thank you both!

Nicely done!
The birds did a pretty good job too (-:
Oh good Lord, you are a serious over achiever. This is so beautiful it made me weep…it made my dog weep (James Taylor quote.) Seriously, this is so amazing and I hope that family still exists for you. I think it does although many are departed. That is the way it goes in this fragile transitory world. I would very much like a hard copy of both poems, pretty please?
Beautiful, beautiful! I was so moved by the video, the poems, the clear love of your family, both your sweet familiar voices, yours and Peter’s. A splendid piece of work!
Along with my wonder at the swarming birds, their tidal rhythms, I feel envy. I want to speak with the voices behind their flight. But I get nervous and afraid, too, as if I have to get back into my house and I can’t find the key.
Yes, the flow of the flock speaks to me of tides and times that change so fast these flickering days. Just a moment on the page and the ink runs off. Your words are touching and somehow solemnize the fitful and maybe frivolous movement. Ain’t life grand?
