I loved this Daily Create challenge–to make a video of yourself building a 3-D assemblage. I take great pleasure in arranging altars, mantelpiece displays, and window-boxes, so this was the perfect excuse to clean out the dining room window-box and rearrange it with fresh flowers and objects from our trips–including a large chunk of coral from Kauai and the Native Hawaiian flag.
There is a meditative quality to arranging objects in pleasing juxtapositions to each other.
I am reminded of a poem by my friend Janet Barocco:
The deep, rich tones
of subtle grace
that dance and play within
the space
of light between
often pass unseen
and leave no residue or trace
except a fragrance
lingering
in their place
of music
never heard before.
graceful space…
Fabulous display! I’m sure it looks spectacular at night with the candle display next to those flowers!
Thanks for juxtaposing us in your life, a lovely meditative act in and of itself! Feeling exotic & special as those fragrant lilies & Hawaiian coral! xo
Great choice of music and the exotic island treasures but, mostly enjoyed the bike rider and the mail box looking into your neighborhood!!
You reminded me that we can create a ‘memory’ or ‘mood’ or ‘sacred’ space just about anywhere with a little imagination and a few choice treasures…
