This little portfolio is a series of conceptual photography images I made for my art class.
The assignment was, with the current mass shootings in consciousness, to create any kind of art in any medium that contained a bullet.
I immediately did NOT want to do this assignment! Which is why I’ve more or less devoted the last three days to it…
I crowdsourced ideas for this project from my Facebook family and also posted versions and tries to them as I went along. I found most people wanted much more “in your face” political polemics.
That helped me think about what was right for me, and I realized that I was after a combination of emotion and aesthetics.
I really admire your balance of emotion and aesthetics in this portfolio. For me it increases the impact. The birds at the end took my breath away, both in surprise and sadness.
I can understand how you didn’t want to do this assignment, but I’m glad you did. You’re a courageous artist.
Lloyd, Thank you so much for being the solo voice in response to this video. There are many ways to respond to this national epidemic, but it moves all compassion all souls to depth.
