Quinceanera at Multnomah Falls

My mom, my sister, Toren, and I stopped at Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge this late fall afternoon, and there was a young lady in full regalia with her family celebrating her fifteenth birthday, a tradition in many Hispanic families called the Quinceanera. This lucky shot is of three generations of the young woman’s family–little sisters, brother, grandfather. I treated it to one of my many photo apps on my i-Pad and am very pleased with this photo both aesthetically and for the story it tells of the awed but chilly younger sisters looking on, looking around, the pleased brother, the grandfather looking beyond into the towering grandeur of the falls themselves.

I kept clicking, thinking it was a video. No, it is a still, and a nifty one at that. It looks like an old hand tinted photo. The expressions on each person, priceless. From the confident young man, the enraptured girls and especially the old man in the back. Brilliant!
